2005-04-11 L1 CAL Integration Mtg Far Side, 13:00 Attendees: Alan Stone, Lyn Bagby, Sabine Lammers, Johnny Green Md Naimuddin, Peter Renkel Sabine and Mike will help Lyn with configuring the TAB to get output from the transmitter, so a measurement of the optical power output can be performed. Should involve Mikolaj. Request the documentation for the bit error rate measuements performed at Nevis on the TAB/GAB. We will be using a different receiver at Fermilab. Debriefing meeting for Electrical Operations with the lab division. supervisor this afternoon. Lyn will be attending. The message from D0 will be that the L1 CAL upgrade effort is heavily dependent on the electrical support group. Look into additional crates so a sidewalk test stand can persist after the installation of the new system in the fall. The optical cables (50 micron, appropriate length) were ordered and should be here later this week. We do not have at D0 cables of the correct wavelength and long enough to run from the test stand to the MCH 2nd floor. Report from Johnny Green on Transition System Got a few mock-up modules for the new transition paddle card. Put connectors on two of them. 220 mm deep, 6 u in height. The ERNI connector we have been using all this time was the wrong part for the application we want. Will get the correct part from Harding. Does not affect the signal or channel mapping. Mainly a mechanical issue. Will need to add a little bump to the front of the board for the pair of pleated foil connectors. The schematic for the patch panel card has been revised to incorporate changes suggested by Dan Edmunds, modifications for the cable clamps, moving the connectors a little, updating silkscreen, etc. Make another version (#2) of the patch panel cards - order and stuff 3 or 4. Transition test board is on hold, until the final version of the transition paddle card has been made. We don't need it right away, but it will be important for quality control later on. This became clear from tests Dan Edmunds performed with the revised BLS only paddle card. Discussion on why Mike had to flip the signals from the ADF to TAB. What was the source? If only test data from the ADF was sent, then only the LVDS cable connects the ADF to TAB, and nothing from the transition system would be in play. Are the cables ok? Need to investigate, and soon. Report from Sabine and Nayeem on Readout TAB readout. The COOR resources file is not set up correctly. Scott did not differentiate our test readout from global readout. Fix ourselves, then tell Scott. Would require reinit of COOR. Met with Elizabeth and Arnold. Created a zero bias template. Clear on what to do in the future. Alan, Peter and Rahmi will work on a new draft note of the labelling scheme this week.
